Season 2: Episode 04

It all began with a call for pitches on the AfroQueer social media pages which turned into a full-blown quest to find the filmmaker behind one of the first feature-length LGBTQ+ films ever made in West Africa.

We found the filmmaker, Mohammed Camara and talked about his film, Dakan.

  1. I truly loved the movie. I enjoyed the sit down talk here with the Director. I didn’t know the guy who played Manga was his little brother. It would’ve been nice though if you guys had asked the Director, “What ever happen to the guy who played Manga’s lover, Sori? Do you know if he stayed in acting?” Again, thanks for the podcast.
